Chicken Legs Marinated in Beer – Buttermilk and Breadcrumbs

Give special chicken legs with a little buttermilk, beer and breadcrumbs with this recipe for Jackie Dodd touch.


  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 12 ounces or 0.35 liters of beer
  • 1.5 lbs or 680 grams of chicken
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


In a large bowl, combine the serum and beer. Place the chicken in the marinade. Cover the chicken and let cool for 8-24 hours. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius. In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs, basil, oregano, lemon zest and flour. Remove one by one the chicken pieces from marinade and roll it in flour mixture until well coated. Place in a baking tray and spread a little oil on top. Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until chicken is golden brown and the internal temperature is 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 70 degrees Celsius.
